The History Behind National Center for Youth Development
National Centre for Youth Development was formed on the 19th of January 1996 by a group of individuals headed by Mr. Kehinde Adewole, in Lagos State University. The need to form this organization arose due to the call of United Nations for the Eradication of Abject Poverty, Unemployment, Social and Environmental Problems in order to Guarantee Full Economic, Social and Cultural Rights around the World

Netaid was launched by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)) and CISCO Systems in October 1999; teamed up with United Nations Volunteers to establish a database for online volunteers in its website. The initiative aims to offer NGOs and civil society organizations (CSOs) working in human development on opportunity to collaborate with volunteers who carry out tasks that can be transferred over the Internet. These include technical assistance, translations, data analysis, research, computer programming, online teaching, and moderating a discussion list. *CLEAN UP THE WORLD AUSTRALIA Clean up the world is a non- profit global event, held in conjunction with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) which annually mobilizes million of people in more than 100 countries worldwide to undertake a wide range of environmental activities. *ACTION WITHOUT BORDER/IDEALIST U.S.A Action without Border is a non-profit organization that promotes the sharing of ideas, information and resources to help build a world where all people can live free, and dignified lives in a healthy environment. Idealist, a project of AWB, is the richest community of non profit and volunteering resources on the web, with information provided by 22,000 organisation in 150 countries. *GLOBAL DEVELOPMENT GATEWAY U.S.A. Global Development Gateway, an initiative of World Bank aimed to serve as a common platform for material, dialogue and problem solving on development issues. It also aimed at providing links to ideas and good practice, information about development activities and trends, funding, and commercial opportunities. *CHILD RIGHTS INFORMATION NETWORK U.K The child rights information network (CRIN) is a network of over 1,000 child rights organizations around the world. It strives to information about child rights and promoting the U.N convention on the rights to the child. *EARTHACTION U.S.A Is a global network of over 2,000 organizations in more than 161 countries that work together on global environment, peace, development and human rights issues. *KABISSA-USA. Kabissa is designed for people in Africa who have difficulty accessing the internet, provides direct links to online documents that can be real using a web connection or by e-mail with the Kabissa “ web to e-mailserver. Topics covered include conflict, emergencies, rights and democracy, health, education and social welfare, the internet and technology, fundraising, advocacy resources, jobs, books and arts. *TAKINGITGLOBAL-CANADA. TakingITglobal is a group of over 2,700 in 135 countries, putting their ideas into action and creating what they want to see in the world. All members work together to develop that vision. *GLOBAL KNOWLEDGE PARTNERSHIP MALAYSIA. Global knowledge partnership is an evolving, on formal partnership of public, private and not-for-profit organizations. Partner organizations are committed to sharing information, experiences and resources to promote broad access to, and effective use of, knowledge and information as tools of sustainable, equitable development.
